All Saints, Hartford

History All Saints' Hartford was founded in 1180 along the banks of the Great Ouse, when the earliest part of the church was built. The Choir window, showing a young boy reading at the lectern is unique to Hartford. The commemoration plaque in the church says : "To the Glory of God and in loving memory of Francis Trevelyan Egerton, son of the Hon. Ursula and Rev G Cockburn-Dickinson. He was a reader in the church from the tender age of 8 years. Drowned, April 1885, aged 10 years". Our own website - www.allsaintshartford.org.uk |
